The wraps were taken off the fourth-generation Kia Rio today at 1 Utama Shopping Centre.
The 2017 fourth-generation 1.4-litre Rio is offered in four colours, namely Clear White, Signal Red, Smoke Blue and Silky Silver.
It has a 1.4-litre Kappa MPI DOHC D-CVVT petrol engine with 100ps at 6,000rpm and 133Nm of torque at 4,000rpm mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox.
Its bold dynamic design features the trademark ‘Schreyer’ tiger-nose grille, while the tailgate handle also doubles as the housing for the rear-view camera.
The new Rio has 4mm more headroom for the rear passengers, 8mm more legroom up front and 4mm more legroom at the back.
It also has 25mm more shoulder room between the front passengers, and 31mm more shoulder room for the rear passengers.
The tailgate is now wider by 71mm and lowered to the ground by 26mm - this allows owners to store wider, bulkier items than ever before.
The dashboard has a five-inch LCD touchscreen mated to a six-speaker audio system with MP3, Bluetooth and USB features, as well as a rear view camera.
Other attractive features include 60:40 folding rear seats, a sunroof, automatic air-conditioning, keyless entry, push start button, powered windows, automatic headlights with static bending lights, and LED daytime running lights.
Safety features include all-round disc brakes, six airbags, speed sensing automatic door lock, impact sensing automatic door unlock, ISOFIX baby seat mounts, ESC (electronic stability control) and HAC (hill start assist control).
