Aminar said the car's upper body design was done by the company.
"The upper body is not based on any existing Daihatsu or Toyota models. It is is the first Perodua model to have an upper body designed completely in-house," said Aminar at a media briefing in Perodua Sentral, Petaling Jaya.
"Daihatsu continues to assist and support Perodua in the areas of product planning, production planning, engineering and production among others," he said.
The new Myvi has a "Passion Engineered" tagline, and Perodua is aiming for monthly sales of 6,000 units for the first three months after the car is launched.

The new Myvi comes in five variants, consisting of three 1.3-litre and two 1.5-litre models.
They are priced on-the-road without insurance at RM44,300 (1.3-litre G grade, manual transmission); RM46,300 (1.3-litre G grade, automatic transmission); RM48,300 (1.3-litre Premium X grade, automatic); RM51,800 (1.5-litre High grade, automatic) and RM55,300 (1.5-litre Advance grade, automatic).
The new Myvi has a list of impressive features, with all variants fitted with LED headlamps with 'Follow Me Home' function and headlamp levelling, Smart Entry with push-start ignition, 60:40 folding rear seats, and reverse sensors.
All Myvi variants also have anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD) and vehicle stability control (VSC).
The 1.5-litre variants come with six airbags while four airbags are standard on 1.3-litre variants.
The 1.5-litre variants also have a built-in toll reader for a Touch 'n Go card, which means the driver does not need a SmartTAG device.
The top 1.5-litre Advance variant also has Advanced Safety Assist (ASA), a suite of advanced safety features that comprises Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert and Pedal Mis-operation Control.
