Jaturont Komolmis, chief operating officer of Grand Prix International and the vice chairman of the motor show said, "The high number of bookings was due to the great variety of vehicles and choices at the motor show. Also, the relaxation of purchase loan regulations, marketing promotions and the post-election period motivated consumers."

Dr Prachin Eamlumnow, who is the CEO of Grand Prix International and the organising chairman of the motor show, also noted that the Bangkok International Motor Show is certified by OICA (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles) and listed on the global motor show calendar.

"Thanks to the success of the Bangkok International Motor Show, OICA had given us approval for cars to be sold at the event as opposed to motor shows where sales are not allowed," said Dr Prachin.

"Previously, OICA had requested us to suspend car sales at the motor show. We explained to OICA that Thailand is an assembly hub for cars, and not a producer. We are different from car producing countries," recalled Dr Prachin.
