MUNICH: The new 2019 BMW M340i xDrive sedan, an extremely dynamic model variant of the new 3 Series, will have a world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2018 which starts on Nov 30.

A straight six-cylinder petrol engine with 374hp, M-specific suspension technology, M Sport differential, intelligent four-wheel drive provide outstanding driving dynamics that are unparalleled in the mid-sized segment.

Tyres of the format 225/45 R 18 are mounted on the front wheels, whilst size 255/40 R 18 tyres are used at the rear.

Standard equipment on the BMW M340i xDrive sedan include the M Sport suspension, variable sports steering, an M Sport differential, the M Sport brake system and 18-inch M light alloy wheels with mixed tyres.

The new TwinScroll turbocharged engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology provides the six-cylinder with an increase in output by 48hp to 374hp vs. the most powerful engine previously used for the BMW 3 Series, as well as an increase in maximum torque by 50Nm to 500Nm.

The BMW M340i xDrive Sedan completes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds – half a second faster than the top-of-the-range model of the previous generation of the BMW 3 Series Sedan.

The BMW M340i xDrive Sedan comes as standard with the 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission.

The rear-wheel bias of BMW xDrive supports that brand-typical driving experience and is particularly strongly effective in the driver experience control modes SPORT and SPORT+.

The M sport brakes achieve this with a more direct ratio as well as a different hydraulic configuration including four-piston, fixed calliper brakes and 348 millimetres discs at the front and single-piston, floating calliper brakes with 345 millimetres discs at the rear.

A further integral part of the M Sport suspension and the Adaptive M suspension is the Variable Sport Steering feature, which supports agile cornering with outstanding feedback as well as spontaneous and precise response.

Unique design elements include the BMW kidney grille boasting a mesh design, the rear spoiler in body colour and trapezoidal exhaust tailpipe trims.

Inside the car, there are sports seats with M-specific upholstery in a Sensatec/Alcantara trim, the anthracite BMW Individual roof liner, the M leather-clad steering wheel with shift paddles and interior trim strips in Aluminium Tetragon.

The BMW X7 and BMW 8 Series Convertible are the next step in the Munich-based premium carmaker’s ongoing model offensive in the luxury segment.

The BMW Vision iNext will give visitors an enthralling insight into all-electric, fully connected and highly automated driving.

The production model based on the BMW Vision iNext will serve as the company’s new technological flagship, with the first examples rolling off the assembly line at BMW Plant Dingolfing in 2021.
