KUALA LUMPUR: One week into the new year and the first car to launch in Malaysia is the 2020 edition of the Perodua Bezza sedan which comes in four variants - 1.0 G MT, 1.0 G AT, 1.3 X and 1.3 AV - and is priced at RM34,580, RM36,580, RM43,980 and RM49,980 respectively.

All prices are on-the-road without insurance.

The 2020 Perodua Bezza has updated its looks and has added the Advanced Safety Assist 2.0 (ASA 2.0) suite  to the topped specced 1.3 litre AV variant.



The 2020 Perodua Bezza now comes with LED headlamps and two-tone sideskirts as standard.

Other updates include an angular and imposing front bumper, a restyled rear bumper and 15-inch 10-spoke wheels for the X and AV variants.

Inside, white-illuminated gauges are present on the instrument cluster, while keyless entry and push start as well as front corner sensors, are offered on the X and AV variants. The AV variant also gets a reverse camera and leather seats.



All variants get power-adjustable side mirrors and reverse sensors while the AV variant adds a reverse camera and its side mirrors are retractable.

Safety-wise, the X and AV variants get vehicle stability control (VSC). All variants get dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake distribution (EBD).

Under the hood is the familiar 1.0 litre three-cylinder VVT-i engine which produces 67hp and 91Nm of torque while the 1.3 litre offers 94hp and 121Nm of torque.



The 1.0L is available in either a five-speed manual or four-speed auto transmission while the 1.3L comes with auto transmission only.

There are also two new colours for the 202 Bezza - Garnet Red (exclusive to X and AV variants) and Granite Grey. The other colours include Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Ocean Blue and Sugar Brown.

The 2020 Perodua Bezza comes with a five-year/150,000 km warranty (whichever comes first).

Perodua expected to deliver some 5,600 units of the 2020 Bezza by the end of this month and has a sales target of 4,000 units per month.
