2021 MINI John Cooper Works Countryman: Power-packed style

By THOMAS HUONG | 22 July 2020

MUNICH: The new 2021 MINI John Cooper Works Countryman is powered by a 4-cylinder turbo engine with 306hp and maximum torque of 450Nm, mated to a 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.

Due to be launched from November 2020, it will come with ALL4 all-wheel drive and suspension technology designed using the race track expertise of John Cooper Works.

The most powerful engine ever used in a standard MINI, the all-wheel drive and the differential lock on the front wheels integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission ensure superior performance.

The 0 to 100kph sprint is done in 5.1 seconds, and the tailpipes with an enlarged diameter of 95mm are real eye-catchers, too.

Highlights of this mid-cycle update are four doors and a large tailgate, five full-size seats, a variable-use interior and a luggage compartment volume that can be expanded up to 1,390 litres.

As an option, the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman can be equipped with an adaptive chassis.

Its standard equipment includes a sports brake system with 4-piston fixed caliper disc brakes on the front wheels and single-piston floating-caliper disc brakes on the rear wheels, as well as 18-inch John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels with brake callipers painted in Chili Red.

On the exterior, there is a redesigned radiator grille, and newly designed LED headlights and rear lights while the interior also features new accents.

Optional are a 5.0-inch digital instrument display, and an 8.8-inch colour display with touchscreen function.
