As it switches to an electric platform developed with Great Wall Motors in China from 2023 onwards, MINI is again shrinking the size of the three-door model, while the Countryman is set to increase in size.
That means there's room in between for another model series from 2024, the manufacturers have announced. The Aceman concept, if put into production, would see the creation of a new five-door electric with slightly increased ground clearance.
The crossover is 4.05 metres long, 1.99 metres wide and 1.59 metres high. However, thanks to the space saved in the car's floor from the electric platform, it should offer more room for passengers than the current Countryman.
In addition to the new format, the British BMW subsidiary is also introducing a new design language with the Aceman. The brand face has been revised, and the Aceman brings a more angular look, even if it's still immediately recognisable as a MINI.
On the inside, the British manufacturer is mainly promoting their new infotainment system. As before, it is based on a circular display in the centre of the dashboard, albeit now larger.
In addition, there are new areas for storing items and a sustainable choice of materials that will do without leather in future.
MINI has not yet given any details on the technology. However, a few months ago the British already announced the key data for the successor to the three-door model built on the same platform.
It will be available in two versions: the MINI Cooper E with 185hp and a 40kWh battery for a standard range of 300km or the Cooper SE with 225hp and 50kWh.
This should make up to 400km possible. Similar values are also expected for the Aceman.
