Kreisel Electric and Schwarzenegger have teamed up to modify this Mercedes and turn it into an ecologically friendly electric vehicle.
The electrified Mercedes G 350 d convinces has a realistic travel range of 300km with a single power-charge.
The high-performance batteries are built into the car with a capacity of 80 kWh and an overall weight of 510kg.
The Kreisel batteries are distributed in the car: under the bonnet, in the rear, where it replaces the fuel tank and underneath the entry.
Several electric motors with reduction gears have been fitted directly onto the transfer gearbox while the main gear unit was eliminated.
The powerful electric vehicle puts 360kW (490PS) on the road and reaches a maximum speed of 183km/h.
100 km/h can be reached within 5.6 seconds.
In just 25 minutes, the e-car can be fast-charged up to 80 percent of its full capacity.
At the edge of the Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbuehel, Austria the former Californian governor went for a spin in the mutually developed, designed electrified Mercedes G-Class.
“This amazing off-road vehicle as a clean and fast electric car? A dream has become real!”, rejoiced Schwarzenegger.
Schwarzenegger will continue to test drive the prototype in Los Angeles.
Kreisel Electric says the electrified Mercedes G 350 d is a unique prototype and not for sale.
The company is in talks with partner companies regarding mass production of cars with Kreisel batteries.
