The S5 will get to 100kph from standstill in 4.7 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250kph.
This is in thanks to the marriage of an 8-speed tiptronic transmission mated to the 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine with 354PS and 500Nm from 1,370 to 4,500rpm and comes equipped with quattro (naturally) as standard.
There are slight differences to the less brawny A5 Sportback and can be seen in the bumper, air inlets and side sills.
Many of the S-specific styling additions are painted in graduated tones of matt grey. Aluminium inlays accentuate the design inside, while the exterior mirror housings shine in an aluminium look.
The rear bumper integrates a black honeycomb grille, aluminium diffuser trim and the signature four tailpipes. A spoiler lip in body colour adorns the separating edge of the luggage compartment lid.
Furthermore, the S5 sits on specially tuned S sport suspension, while an optional sport differential can be had that's now 1kg lighter and uses two superposition gears to distribute torque between the rear wheels.
During fast driving, the sport differential literally pushes the car into the curve to negate understeer by directing most of the torque to the outside wheel.
