Auto Bavaria holds first overseas riding event to Thailand

PETALING JAYA: Auto Bavaria recently held its first riding event to Thailand, its first abroad.

The Auto Bavaria Ride to Khao Yai was held in conjunction with BMW Motorrad Day in Thailand.

The Nov 7-12 bike expedition for Auto Bavaria customers was limited to 20 participants and was by-invitation only. Participants took their motorcycles on a 3,000km adventure starting from the Auto Bavaria Glenmarie showroom in Shah Alam to Khao Yai in northern Thailand and back.

Riders showed up on different BMW Motorrad model such as the R 1200 GS, R 1250 GSA, S 1000 XR, R 1200 GSA, R 1200 RT and the R 1250 GSA.

“The itinerary was well done and we enjoyed it,” said participant Derek Clyde.  “It is a great effort by Auto Bavaria."

Auto Bavaria said it would organise more such trips locally and abroad.

The bikers were accompanied by support cars, a rescue van and a technical crew to attend to breakdowns.

Pit stop crews were present to provide cold drinks and wet tissues. A photographer and video crew documented the trip for the benefit of Auto Bavaria and the bikers.

Auto Bavaria is the largest BMW dealership in Malaysia. Take note that the Glenmarie outlet has since relocated to Ara Damansara in Petaling Jaya.
