Autonest app promises to ease car servicing and maintenance works
By THE STAR | 24 January 2022
PETALING JAYA: A new app has just been launched that promises to serve as a platform to help car owners service and maintain their vehicles.
It was launched today by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Present at the launch was Autonest founder David Bong along with Puspakom Sdn Bhd marketing and advisory head Datuk Ooi Win Juat.
In a Facebook post, Dr Wee said the application would make it more convenient for motorists to service their cars while also allowing them to minimise their expenses.
"This pandemic has not only brought an impact to our daily lives but also saw a change in the approaches taken by businesses to adapt to the new normal with digitalisation being one of the latest business models.
"Through the Autonest application, motorists can now perform servicing and maintenance for their cars more efficiently, especially with the Chinese New Year celebrations fast approaching," Dr Wee said.
He added that during the first nine months of 2020 and 2021, there were a total 4,634 and 3,302 deaths reported from road accidents respectively.
"Apart from human factors, the issue of car maintenance is another contributing factor to road accidents.
"As such, I hope that all vehicle owners will perform the necessary maintenance works when needed to minimise the number of accidents due to vehicular malfunctions," the MCA president said.
