MUNICH: BMW's 330e Saloon plugin-hybrid will no longer be lonely in the coming months.

The German automaker based in Munich will soon be welcoming a Touring (wagon) variant to take on the 330e nomenclature.

Additionally, both Saloon and Touring will have an optional xDrive all-wheel-drive system for choice - bringing the total number of variants up to four.

The Touring variant uses the Saloon's powertrain in which it too will have a total system output of 292hp and 420Nm.

This allows the Touring variant to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 6.1 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 222kph while having the ability to travel up to 55km - emissions-free.

With the xDrive system, acceleration for the Touring variant stakes 0.1 seconds more at 6.2 seconds before reaching Vmax at 216kph.

This is the first time a BMW Touring variant gets equipped with an electrified drive system.

Much like all of BMW's plugin hybrid models, the 330e Touring will be fitted as standard with active pedestrian protection where an unmistakable sound designed specifically for electrified BMW models is generated at speeds of up to 30kph.

Standard equipment for the electrified 3 Series models includes a tri-zone automatic air conditioning and auxiliary air conditioning.

Also included are automatic anti-dazzle interior mirror alongside anti-dazzle power-folding exterior mirrors, Parking Assistant, reversing assistant, BMW Live Cockpit ConnectedDrive with voice control navigation, Remote Services, Apple CarPlay and Connected Music.

Within the popular M Sport Plus package, this includes the Adaptive M suspension system with a Variable Sports Steering system and the M sports braking system and Driving Assistant Professional among others.
