BMW 330i M Sport: Locally assembled at RM289K

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia today unveiled the new BMW 330i M Sport priced at RM288,800 (on the road, without insurance, and with BMW Group Malaysia’s latest 5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty, Free Scheduled Service Programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme).

It is RM40,000 cheaper than the fully imported model that arrived in March.

Colour offerings include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Mineral Grey.

Colour offerings in Portimao Blue will be available from January 2020 onwards while Sunset Orange will be available from March 2020 onwards.

Inside, owners have a choice of Black Vernasca leather upholstery or Cognac Vernasca leather upholstery.

The premium sports sedan has 18-inch M light alloy wheels, blue-painted callipers that display the M logo on the M Sport brakes, and adaptive LED headlights with Bi-LED technology.

Exterior features include the notably larger kidney grille and slim, three-dimensional taillights fitted in an L shape with emphasis on the use of smoked glass, and an aerodynamic spoiler lip affixed to the rear along with two distinct 90-millimetre tailpipes.

Powered by a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo petrol engine, the 330i M Sport outputs 258hp with a peak torque of 400Nm from 1,550 to 4,400 rpm.

It also makes the century sprint in 5.8 seconds.

With the updated 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, fuel consumption is rated at 6.4 litres per 100km.

Owners can look forward to a lighter, more rigid vehicle as the total weight has been reduced by 25kg (kerb weight of 1,545kg).

With a drag coefficient of 0.23, the car boasts best-in-class aerodynamics.

The rigidity levels of the body structure and suspension attachment have been greatly enhanced as well, with a 50:50 axle load distribution and a low centre of gravity.

The M Sport suspension highlights BMW’s first-ever lift-related dampers.

Other features include a fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 10.25-inch touch sensitive Control Display, the M Sport leather steering wheel with multifunction and shift paddles, Intelligent Personal Assistant and Digital Key, as well as the safety innovation offered in the form of the Park Assist and Reverse Assist, afforded by the Parking Assistant system.
