BMW donates five turbocharged 2.0-litre engines to varsities and colleges

CYBERJAYA: BMW Group Malaysia has given five of its BMW TwinPower Turbo 2.0-Litre 4 Cylinder engines to five Malaysian engineering universities and colleges for research and development and to enhance engineering expertise.

The universities and colleges were University Malaysia Pahang, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur, Taylor’s University, International College of Automotive and The Otomotif College.

“Working with engineering universities and colleges here provides us with the opportunity to share and grow expertise, skills and indirectly helps drive innovation for the automotive industry in the country," said BMW Group Malaysia managing director and CEO Alan Harris.

"It is our way of creating value for the industry, which is a core principle of the BMW Group.”

Last year, the company had started a partnership with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Johor to improve supply chain and logistics management.
