BMW Malaysia clearing out spruced-up 330e and X5 PHEVs

By CARSIFU | 18 January 2019

CYBERJAYA: BMW Malaysia today introduced the F30 330e M Performance Edition and F15 X5 xDrive40e M Performance Edition, while keeping the prices unchanged.

Both locally assembled plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) are equipped with M Performance accessories. Only 300 units are offered for each model with the 330e going for RM258,800 (on the road, without insurance) and the X5 xDrive40e at RM390,800.

Today's announcement, coming a day after BMW's stellar 2018 sales results, also signals that the all-new G20 3 Series and G05 X5 will make landfall this year. BMW will announce the launch dates soon enough. It is standard practice to dress up outgoing models before the new ones come in. And for those who don't need the latest, such outgoing models could prove to be attractive purchases.

The 330e plug-in hybrid now features sportier aerodynamics and aesthetics with the addition of M Performance side skirts, side sill foils, and front grilles in high-gloss black, as well as the lightweight M Performance Carbon mirror caps for the side mirrors.

The vehicle features a front attachment in Matt Black, a rear spoiler and a rear diffuser, in addition to the aggressive M Performance dark tail lights that round up the athletic look.

The interior, meanwhile, is equipped with M Performance stainless steel pedals and footrests.

The exterior colour offerings for the 330e M Performance Edition include Sunset Orange, Black Sapphire, Estoril Blue or Alpine White; while the interior is decked out in Black Dakota Leather.

The X5, meanwhile, gets similar M Performance kit along with carbon front attachment and a rear spoiler in high-gloss black and carbon rear diffuser.

Inside, there's also stainless steel pedals. The X5 plug-in hybrid comes in Carbon Black, Mineral White or Space Grey. All exterior colour offerings are paired with Black Dakota Leather, whereas Carbon Black offers an additional option of Terra Dakota Leather.
