The sports activity coupe (SAC) is estimated to be priced on-the-road without insurance at RM400,000 and will be accompanied by a five-year unlimited mileage warranty as well as a free scheduled service programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme.
It will arrive with five colour choices of Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Galvanic Gold, Misano Blue and Sunset Orange while leather upholstery colours include Black Dakota with matching black perforation or Magma Red with Grey-Highlighted perforation.
At the rear, the sporty compact luxury SAC gets fitted with a rear M spoiler, two 100mm-diameter M Sport exhaust tailpipes with a silencer system for a sporty sound and a set of 20-inch style 721M M Sport lightweight wheels in matching Cerium Grey too.
Power comes from an uprated 2.0-litre B48 turbocharged engine producing 306hp from 5,000 to 6,250rpm and 450Nm of torque from 1,750 to 4,500rpm which gets sent to the xDrive all-wheel-drive system via an M Performance tuned eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with Launch Control.
Century sprint times (0 to 100kph) are dispatched in 5.0 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 250kph, while consumption is rated at 7.4 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.
The German carmaker says that the engine's thermal stability is bolstered by a redesigned cooling system.
Also, the X2 has been equipped with stiffer and lower M Sport suspension system, M sports steering system, M Sport Differential for the rear axle, to reduce the loss of traction on the front wheels, upgraded blue performance M Sport callipers that bite on the 18-inch (front) and 17-inch (rear) discs.
As standard, the X2 gets Parking Assistant and reverse camera, while the interior gets a leather-wrapped multi-function M Sport steering wheel with paddle shifters, Aluminium Hexagon Anthracite and door entry trims at the front that bears the “M35i” designation.
For the first time, the X2's cabin has been fitted with front M Sports seats upholstered in Dakota Leather.
The X2 M35i can be experienced during the BMW X Crew event at Plaza Arkadia, Desa Park City from June 21 to 23.
