Bridgestone conducts sports driving lesson for lucky few

SERDANG: The Bridgestone Potenza Driving Lesson was introduced in Malaysia in 2008 and now it forges on to raise awareness of safe and proper sports driving techniques.


Bridgestone Malaysia recently conducted the latest edition of the event at MAEPS Serdang where 30 motoring enthusiasts were in attendance.


Potenza Driving Lesson - 02
Those who attended were selected from a lucky-draw as part of the recent Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003 launch promotion from May 1 till July 31.


Customers who purchased the tyre from an authorized distributor stood a chance to be selected for a hands-on driving experience under the tutorage of professional drivers, who was headed by the “Prince of Drift” Tengku Djan Ley.


Malaysian International Drifting Champion using the Potenza Adrenalin RE003, the most suitable tyre for street sports driving, whilst enjoying safe and proper sports driving.


Potenza Driving Lesson - 07 Avoidance Braking
The participants were taught safe driving techniques and the skills required in handling a vehicle during adverse situations.


The lesson also covered proper steering and seating as well as emergency braking and cornering through a timed autocross course.


All participants had the opportunity to try their hand at four driving courses, which included how slaloms, threshold braking, avoidance braking and tracing the correct cornering line.


Potenza Driving Lesson - 04
Finally, a Time Attack competition was conducted to see how well the participants can apply their newly learnt skills.


“Through this lesson, we are hoping you will bring home with you the theory and hands-on practical lessons that you learnt today and apply the correct driving techniques into your day-to-day driving,” shared Bridgestone Tyres Sales (Malaysia) managing director Jo Takekawa.
