Bridgestone unveils Adrenalin RE003

SUBANG JAYA: Bridgestone Tyre Sales Malaysia launched its third-generation Potenza Adrenalin - the RE003, that builds on its predecessor’s (RE002) sporty capabilities in terms of wet and dry traction, handling stability and ride comfort.

The RE003 is primarily for high performance sports cars, which comes in 20 different sizes that ranges from 15 to 18 inch wheels with 35 to 55 series tyre profiles and are priced roughly from RM200 to RM800 per tyre.

With the new tyres, the Japanese tyre manufacturer is catering to the needs of drivers who are interested in experiencing sports driving performance on winding roads.

Bridgestone said that the most significant improvement to the tyre was its grip levels in both dry and wet conditions as well as having a more accurate road feedback for a better confidence inspiring drive.

While the RE003 maintains its predecessor’s noise levels and rolling resistance a 20% increase in high-speed performance on highways was realised.

Additionally, comfort and wet handling saw a 10% improvement, while wet braking performance, cornering stability and straight-line stability were increased by roughly 5%.

The tyre features a combination of three main grooves and an outer set of half-grooves that increase overall rigidity to offer a quick initial response and was designed to provide a more even road contact that lessens irregular wear.

Furthermore, the tyre features a wide centre rib to keep the tyre from deviating in a straight line, while improving cornering performance and the wave-like “pulse groove” provides better drainage and anti-hydroplaning performance.

The RE003 was developed at the company’s technical centre in Japan and took roughly two years to develop.

The Adrenalin range of tyres was first seen in Malaysia in 2007 as the RE001, under Bridgestone’s Potenza category of tyres, and combines comfort, quietness and overall grip performance into one complete package.
