The iconic G-Class from Mercedes-Benz has been around for 40 years and is renowned for its outstanding driving characteristics and impressive off-road capabilities.
How to impress even more and sell more of the G-Class? Mercedes-Benz hit on the idea of a stunt at an Argentinian dam.
On the 101-metre high wall of the Punta Negra dam, the new G 350 d shows how it defies gravity in the "Stronger than Gravity" campaign. The 2,451 kg G-Class is shown moving along the dam wall in the embedded YouTube.
In addition to the main film of the stunt, Mercedes-Benz has also released photos and short video clips on Instagram documenting how the stunt was staged.
With the "Stronger than Gravity" campaign, Mercedes-Benz set out to sharpen the profile of the G-Class among the key target groups: powerful, self-assured and superior.
"For over 40 years, the G-Class has been continuously developed, while retaining its character and unmistakable key attributes. Its DNA is stronger than trends, defying both the passage of time and even gravity," said Mercedes-Benz off-road product group head Dr Gunnar Güthenke.
