This year, awards for 31 categories are up for grabs including “Car of the Year.”
Categories include Best Compact Hatch, Best Economy Car (1.0 to 1.5-litre), Best Mid-sized Car (C segment), Best Compact SUV/Crossover, Best Pick-Up Truck and Hybrid Vehicle of the Year.
Other categories include Business Car of the Year, Hybrid Luxury Car of the Year and Best Design. There will also be categories for petrol and diesel engines of the year.
The awards will honour outstanding cars for advancements and innovations in areas such as design, features and green technology.

These cars were evaluated in key areas such as safety, performance, comfort, fuel economy, handling, styling as well as their individual “wow” factor.
Vehicles shortlisted are from brands such as BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jaguar, Kia, Lexus, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Porsche, Proton, Renault, Toyota, Volkswagen, Volvo and Westar-Maxus.
The Honda Civic 1.5 TC Premium was crowned “Car of the Year 2016” at last year’s inaugural event.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has been invited as the guest of honour for the gala dinner.
Some of the award-winning cars, along with several recently launched vehicles, will be presented at the CarSifu Auto Show 2017, to be held at Mid-Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur from Oct 25 till 29 .
