KUALA LUMPUR: Chevron Malaysia Limited says it will continue to partner ShopeePay after it saw average daily ShopeePay transactions grew by five times within a month during its RM1 million cashback campaign.

The campaign, launched on March 1, also resulted in attracting new and returning customers to Caltex, Chevron's retail brand.

With the pandemic proven to be the main impetus for cashless transactions, Chevron and ShopeePay tapped into the readiness by consumers to go cashless.

Through the campaign, consumers willing to shift towards cashless transactions at Caltex stations had the opportunity to enjoy an RM8 cashback when they spent a minimum of RM30 and paid with ShopeePay e-wallet.

Chevron Malaysia country chairman Jay Gomez said the campaign had exceeded the company's expectations.

"The campaign saw an overwhelming (public) response that it ended ahead of time, and we even topped up our investment to make it RM1 million!”

While the campaign has ended, ShopeePay mobile wallet users at Caltex will continue to receive a RM3 cashback with a minimum spend of RM15. Each user is entitled to one RM3 cashback a day from ShopeePay. Terms and conditions apply.
