SHAH ALAM: Locally assembled models of the C-segment Mazda3 in hatchback and sedan forms are expected to be launched in mid-April 2015.

According to a teaser from Bermaz Motor Sdn Bhd, price tags for the Mazda3, with SkyActiv technology, are estimated to be around RM105,000 (sedan mid-spec); RM119,000 (hatchback mid-spec plus); and RM125,000 (sedan high-spec).

Bermaz Motor, the exclusive distributor of Mazda cars in Malaysia, also hinted that the completely knocked down (CKD) Mazda3 from the plant in Kulim, Kedah will have more features that were not packaged with the imported units.

The third-generation 2.0-litre Mazda3 sedan was launched in the country in March 2014, and units were imported from Japan and priced on-the-road with insurance at RM138,935.50 with a three-year warranty.

The imported units had premium features such as bi-xenon headlights with auto-levelling and washer, reverse camera, a sunroof and daytime running lights.

The Mazda3 has a five-star Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) safety rating and features include six airbags, ISOFIX anchor points at the rear, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, dynamic stability control and traction control.
