Ducati and Lenovo collab heralds a new limited-edition laptop

KUALA LUMPUR: Next Bike Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for Ducati in Malaysia, announced a new partnership with its Ducati MotoGP and key technology partner, Lenovo Malaysia.

As a result, Lenovo Malaysia will provide three units of its limited-edition Lenovo Ducati 5 notebooks (each worth RM3,999) to the Ducati Malaysia flagship showroom at Petaling Jaya for the use of its patrons.

The laptop is currently available for pre-order on Lenovo's website and only 1,000 units will be made available globally.

For Ducatistis who visit the showroom, the laptop will be available or use while waiting for their bike(s) to be serviced at the Ducati social area.

The laptop uses Lenovo's 14-inch IdeaPad Slim series as its base with an all-metal construction that's about 3mm-slimmer against the IdeaPad Slim's plastic construction or 3.8mm-slimmer than one with a metal construction.

The limited-edition laptop, while sporting the same processor, does offer a larger and faster 1TB M.2 Solid State Drive (SSD) PCIe-NVMe.

Globally, the partnership between Ducati and Lenovo began in April 2018 which saw the introduction of the limited edition laptop with Windows 10 at CES 2020 - the world’s largest consumer electronics show in Las Vegas.

Additionally, the Lenovo brand is visible on Ducati racing bikes and on the uniforms of the MotoGP riders during both MotoGP and World SBK championships.

However, with the collaboration between Ducati and Lenovo, all Ducati customers and Desmo members are given special privilege to purchase the Lenovo Ducati Limited Edition notebook at a discounted price of RM3,519.

Additionally, Desmo members will be given early access to the Lenovo Merdeka Sale from Aug 10 to 31 to enjoy additional discounts of up to 48%.

Also, Ducati Malaysia will be launching its 2020 model line-up of highly anticipated Ducati and Scrambler models soon.

Ducatisti can look forward to greater rewards and cash rebates during the upcoming Ducati Red Weekend promo.

The Lenovo Ducati 5 Special Edition is powered by 10th-gen Intel Core i5 Processor which is enclosed within a 14-inch form factor with preloaded Windows 10.

Battery life rated by Lenovo is indicated at up to 12 hours with Rapid Charge and has been priced at RM3,999, inclusive of Microsoft Office Home and Student programme.
