Ducati dressed its Streetfighter V4 S in Dark Stealth

BOLOGNA (Italy): Ducati has introduced a new colour scheme for its Streetfighter V4 S - Dark Stealth.

The new matte black colour joins the usual Ducati Red in the colour options as its Streetfighter V4 range become compliant with the European Union's Euro 5 anti-pollution legislation.

The Streetfighter V4 S is essentially the Italian bike builder's Panigale V4 that's been stripped of its fairings and has been fitted with a high and wide handlebar.

Only the biplane wings and the electronic package help to keep this high-powered naked bike planted to the road's surface.

Weighing just 178kg, the Strettyfighter V4 S is powered by 1,100cc Desmosedici Stradale motor.

This means 208hp at 13,000rpm (250 rpm higher than the EURO 4 version) and 123Nm of torque at 9,500rpm (2,000 rpm lower than the EURO 4 version) are readily on tap thanks to a newly calibrated engine and exhaust system.

The exhaust's silencer now uses longer catalysts (+10mm) that have been impregnated with noble metals to help properly burn off polluting hydrocarbons.

The lengths and dimensions of the exhaust primaries of the rear bank have been optimized to minimize the ignition time of the catalytic converter while maintaining engine performance.

Compared to the Euro 4 models, the manifolds of the rear bank have been shortened by 100mm and reduced in diameter, going from 42mm to 38mm.

The new component allowed the introduction of a more compact rear heat shield integrated into the body of the bike. Always with the aim of limiting emissions is the introduction of four lambda probes (one for each cylinder) to help provide a more refined control of fuel injected.

All Streetfighter V4 models in the 2021 range are fitted with new front brake and clutch pumps, both self-bleeding and derived from those used for the first time on the Superleggera V4.

The body of the new pumps has been designed with a configuration that allows for ‘natural’ bleeding, thus eliminating the need to intervene on the system in the event of air present in the circuit.

The Streetfight V4 S is currently priced at £20,295 (RM110,000) in the UK.
