PETALING JAYA: A. Dinis Rajendran looks just like any other young boy his age.

But his feat of pulling a car with five passengers inside makes him remarkable.

On Monday, “Dynamite Dinis” as he is known among the pupils and teachers of SJK(T) Glenmarie in Shah Alam, became the youngest person to pull a 1,305kg car.

The nine-year-old boy pulled his headmaster’s Nissan Almera with four classmates and a teacher in it over a distance of 60m on the school grounds.

Pupils and teachers cheered Dinis on as he attempted his feat using a simple harness tied to his chest.

He looked to be in deep concentration while attempting the task and took deep controlled breaths.

Dinis, the fourth of five siblings, said he did not even eat breakfast beforehand.

Ten minutes earlier, Dinis’ father Rajendran Alagamuthu, 49, who works in the metal industry, gave his son a few sips of 100 Plus.

Dinis’ mother Bathma Munusamy was seen whispering to him words of encouragement.

His mother described Dinis as a determined boy who would complete anything he set his mind to.

He started pulling heavy objects from the age of four.

“Dinis has a special talent. He does not have big muscles but is able to delve deep inside and uses mental strength to pull heavy objects.

“He likes to eat bread and milk for breakfast. He does not have a special diet and eats whatever food his mother cooks for him,” said Rajendran.

SJK (T) Glenmarie headmaster S. Manohar said the school was honoured to host the challenge as they were proud of Dinis’ abilities.

“We want to bring Dinis’ talent to light to motivate others. It will inspire other pupils to excel in whatever they do,” he said.

Rajendran added that he planned to get his son to do advanced yoga and breathing exercises to prepare him to pull a light aircraft weighing 6,000kg.

Dinis’ uncle James Anbalagan, 50, was also there to witness his nephew’s feat.

“Dinis’ father had similar capabilities when he was a teenager but did not have the opportunity to develop it,’’ he said.
