LOS ANGELES: After five years of research and development, Elation Hypercars has unveiled its Elation Freedom model.

The hypercar is being prototyped, tested and built in Silicon Valley and is the brainchild of CEO Carlos Satulovsky and business partner Mauro Saravia, who met in 1985 while living in Argentina.

Performance targets include a 0-100kph time of 1.8 seconds and a maximum speed of 418kph while the range is planned to be around 640kph.

To achieve these benchmarks, the Freedom is built around a proprietary, ultralightweight, carbon-kevlar monocoque chassis.

The Freedom’s sleek exterior features variable-pitch active aerodynamics and the chassis is fashioned in-house from the finest raw carbon fibre.

The Freedom produces more than 1064kW by using three liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous e-motors while a four-motor configuration, producing more than 1416kW, will be available as an option.

The battery pack is located low in the chassis for optimum stability and heat management.

Meanwhile, the front axle is equipped with a one-speed gearbox and the rear axle with a two-speed unit and proprietary software implements selectable drive modes.

The Freedom is equipped with a Formula 1–inspired double-wishbone titanium suspension to excel in a track setting along with the stability-control software and torque-vectoring system for additional layers of safety.

Having completed feasibility studies, design, modelling and engineering phases, Elation will continue prototype testing, validation and homologation programs.
