Enhanced Mitsubishi Outlander SUV introduced

KUALA LUMPUR: The Mitsubishi Outlander sport utility vehicle (SUV) has been enhanced with an electronic parking brake for more convenience, interior floor illumination lamps which welcomes passengers when doors are opened, and a shark fin antenna for a sportier look.

The Outlander SUV is priced at RM171,000 on-the-road without insurance (GST inclusive).

Warranty is five years or 100,000km, whichever comes first.

The Outlander SUV won the Best SUV/Crossover Mid-Size 4x4 7-Seater award at the inaugural CarSifu Editor’s Choice Awards 2016.

It has 7-seater leather seats, automatic lights and rain sensing wipers, a sunroof, electric tailgate with anti-pinch feature, LED Headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs) and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Available only in 4-wheel-drive and imported from Japan, it is powered by a 2.4-litre Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) engine producing 167ps at 6,000rpm and maximum torque of 222Nm at 4,100rpm.

Power is delivered via a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) with 6-step manual mode.

The Outlander SUV is offered in three colours - Red Metallic, White Pearl and Grey Metallic.

Safety features include seven airbags, active stability and traction control, hill-start assist, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution, and ISOFIX points for child seats.

The Outlander can deliver fuel efficiency of 12.8km per litre (among the best-in-class, based on Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia in-house driving data).

Best-in-class features include rear cargo room which can fit up to four golf bags or a single-bed mattress (1,608-litre) and a turning radius of 5.3 metres.
