PETALING JAYA: Jaguar Land Rover (M) Sdn Bhd today launched the face-lifted Jaguar XJ luxury sedan in three variants with prices starting from RM645,000.

The new XJ full-size luxury sedan is now more dominant and assertive, with an imposing new upfront grille which creates a sharper and more confident look.  This is further enhanced by the full LED adaptive headlights with distinctive ‘Double J’ daytime running lights, and eye-catching tail lamps.

The all-aluminium construction ensures that the new XJ is stronger, more rigid and yet lighter; resulting in a more responsive, agile and fuel-efficient car.

For the Malaysian market, JLRM is offering the long wheelbase new XJ with three engine options that are matched to an 8-Speed Electronic Automatic Transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift.

The 240Ps 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Turbocharged Petrol engine variant is priced from RM645,000. Customers could also opt for the 340PS 3.0-litre V6 Supercharged Petrol engine which starts at RM830,000 or the 300PS 3.0-litre V6 Turbocharged Diesel retailing from RM800,000. Prices quoted are inclusive of 6% GST but exclude road tax, registration and insurance.

As in any limousine, the cabin is crafted to pamper, with ample space to stretch out and relax with entertainment provided by a 20-speaker, 825W Meridian Digital Surround Sound System.

The new XJ is equipped with driver assistance systems.

Among the key features include the unique All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), a low speed cruise control that helps the new XJ cope with low traction situations. This allows the driver to focus on steering. This advanced system also has a pull-away function that allows the new XJ to move away from rest on slippery surfaces as well as a hill descent function that controls vehicle speed on steeper inclines.

The 360° Park Distance Control is uniquely designed to avoid objects at close proximity around the XJ with five cameras placed strategically around the car.

Another feature is the Pedestrian Contact Sensing System.  It automatically raises the new XJ’s bonnet slightly, when it senses a collision with someone on foot, to reduce impact on the pedestrian by preventing contact with engine components.

In addition, a 12.3-inch HD TFT Instrument Panel Display with virtual dials and full-screen 3D Map View makes driving even more of a pleasure.

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia managing director Datuk Aishah Ahmad said the launch of the new XJ signalled the Jaguar range in Malaysia is now completely refreshed.
