PETALING JAYA: Perodua is looking to launch a facelifted Bezza sedan at end-2019 and a 5-seater SUV (sport utility vehicle) in the second half of 2020, according to a recent AmInvest Research report on automotive group MBM Resources Bhd which has a 20% stake in Perodua.

The 5-seater SUV is said to be a smaller version of the Aruz, which has seven seats.

The AmInvest Research report also said the updated Axia compact car will be introduced in September.

There are no details about the facelifted Bezza sedan, but motor industry observers expect that like the updated Axia, more Bezza variants will be fitted with safety features like VSC (vehicle stability control) and TRC (traction control).

Presently, only the top-grade 1.3-litre Bezza Advance variant has VSC and TRC.

It's also highly possible that the top-grade Bezza variant - like the top-grade Aruz and Axia variants - will get an upgraded version of the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) active safety suite, called ASA 2.0 which adds pedestrian detection (up to 50kph), Pre-Collision Warning to 100kph and Pre-Collision Braking to 80kph, Front Departure Alert and Pedal Misoperation Control.
