GOTHENBURG: Sino-Swedish carmaker Polestar has delivered its first European Polestar 2 customer car at its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Thunder-coloured fastback was specified with a Charcoal WeaveTech vegan interior.

This first European delivery marks another crucial step for the electric start-up brand.

Following Europe, the brand looks to also begin deliveries in China and North America throughout.

The first Swedish customers are joined by customers in China and the first Norwegian customers in the first week of August.

Afterwhich, it will be customers in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK who will begin to receive their cars.

Deliveries in Switzerland and North America will follow from then on.

The 408hp electric car has a 78kWh lithium-ion battery that powers two electric motors - one for each axle, and can travel up to 445km with 0-100kph sprints taking just 4.7 seconds.

Polestar 2 was officially revealed online in early 2019 and rolls off the line from a shared production facility in Luqiao, China since March 2020.
