KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo Car Malaysia delivered the first batch of Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric to its Malaysian buyers on Saturday.
A total of 65 owners received their respective units of the electric XC40, marking Volvo Car Malaysia’s next milestone as the company moves into an all-electric future.
To-date, Volvo Car Malaysia has received over 300 orders of the locally-assembled XC40 Recharge Pure Electric and expects to deliver 100 units of the EV to their new owners by the end of the month.
The electric XC40 comes with two electric motors, one on each axle, to deliver a combined output of 300kW (408hp) and 660Nm of torque with an all-wheel drive capability.
The electric XC40 is also the quickest EV of its segment and can sprint from 0-100kph in 4.9 seconds and towards a top speed of 180kph.
Its 78kWh lithium-ion battery, of which 75kWh is usable, promises a driving range of 418km.

The XC40 Recharge Pure Electric is available in five colour options of Black Stone, Crystal White Pearl, Denim Blue, Glacier Silver and Sage Green.
