Mercedes expands C-Class line-up

STUTTGART: Mercedes-Benz has announced the expansion of the C-Class family with the C160 Saloon replacing the C 180 as the new base model. The others are the C 300, C 200 4MATIC, C 220 d 4MATIC and C 450 AMG 4MATIC.

The five models enable Mercedes-Benz to up the stakes and straddles different price points across this segment. All new versions are available in both sedan/saloon and estate bodystyles.

The new models share the same C-Class characteristics, giving them a sporty interior with a high-quality look and feel and enhanced sense of spaciousness, the lightest bodyshell in this segment, fuel-efficient and responsive engines, high efficiency, a comprehensive range of safety features and an agile and comfortable suspension, along with many other innovations.

The C160 Saloon and C 300 represent the additional 4-cylinder cars,  while the C 200 4MATIC and C 220 d 4MATIC introduce new cost-efficient four-wheel-drive variants.

For the C-Class customer who wants even more power, Mercedes directs his attention to the new V6 C 450 AMG 4MATIC.

At the same time, Mercedes-Benz will be introducing new equipment options for the C-Class.

Options available are a head-up display, a touchpad and a wide range of intelligent driver assistance systems. Mercedes-Benz has also very recently extended the range of equipment and appointment options, which now include a heated steering wheel and a revised choice of trims.

A new package of online services under the name "Mercedes connect me" is available from Mercedes-Benz in Europe for the Saloon and Estate models via an integrated on-board KOM module. These services include, for example, Accident Recovery, Maintenance Management and Breakdown Management.

Also now available from dealers are the two new V8 AMG models, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 and the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S, which have already celebrated their world premiere. These high-performance rear-wheel-drive sports cars are powered by a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, making this top-of-the-range V8 model the most powerful car in its segment.
