LONDON: Ford has announced that its Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost variant will be receiving more goodies and personalisation options that was usually found with the 5.0-litre V8 variant.

This will enable drivers to adjust the intensity of their vehicle’s exhaust note via the quad-exhaust system and can be adjusted using Mustang’s Drive Modes (Normal, Sport, Track and Snow/Wet).

A new Drag Strip Mode and customisable My Mode – via the 12-inch all-digital LCD instrument panel as well as through the standard 4.2-inch cluster has been made available.

An additional Quiet Mode has been included, which can be programmed to automatically limit the exhaust’s noise output at pre-programmed times of the day to avoid disturbing neighbours.

The system features a dual-voice coil sub-woofer, high-performance three-way front door speakers, SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

“Continuous improvement and innovation have been a huge part of the Mustang’s success during the past 54 years, which includes 35,000 happy customers in Europe since first going on sale across the region in 2015,” said Ford of Europe vice president (Marketing, Sales & Service) Roelant de Waard.

The Mustang's 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine with over-boost provides an output of 290PS and 440Nm and is managed by a six-speed manual transmission.
