KUALA LUMPUR: Shahrul Iman Sulaiman (above, right) recently bought a RM125,000 Ford Ranger XLT Plus and ended up winning the high-performance Ranger Raptor.

He was one of many Ranger buyers who were eligible to take part in the "Buy a New Ranger. Win a Ranger Raptor" contest held by Ford distributor Sime Darby Auto ConneXion.
The contest ran from Oct 25 last year to Jan 31 this year in conjunction with the launch of the new Ranger.
Through the contest, customers who had bought a Ranger was in the running to win a Ranger Raptor. Designed by the Ford Performance team and engineered to deliver an adrenaline pumping experience, the Ranger Raptor represents a new and distinctive breed of truck with its bold appearance and extreme off-road performance capabilities.
The RM200,000 Ranger Raptor has a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder bi-turbo diesel engine that makes 210hp and 500Nm of torque. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It has a 283mm ground clearance and 850mm wading depth.
With the Ranger Raptor, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion has opened up a new market for the premium performance pickup truck sector, the first and only in the market.
