PETALING JAYA: Fuel prices will be on the rise again with RON95 and RON97 up three sen with diesel getting bumped up by four sen.

The Finance Ministry said RON97 petrol would be priced at RM1.89 per litre, up by three sen from RM1.86 per litre previously for the period of June 20-26.

The price of RON95 petrol will also increase three sen from RM1.56 per litre to RM1.59 per litre, while diesel is up by four sen to RM1.77 per litre from RM1.73.

The ministry said that the higher fuel prices were due to the increase in refined product prices, in line with the rise in global crude oil prices.

“The government will continue to monitor the impact of the global crude oil price change and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of the people," it said in a statement on Friday (June 19).

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was reintroduced on Jan 5, 2019, under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

Under this system, fuel prices are announced every Friday and remain in force for one week.
