PARIS: Renault has released an image of what the next-generation, electrified Kangoo compact van should look like when it rolls into showrooms from 2020.
The utilitarian family car presents a less boxy shape to the world, with sculpted flanks and more rounded contours. A signature glass front grille and white LED light strip link the front headlamps and surround the brand logo.
The Kangoo ZE concept is an all-electric vehicle, but Renault has revealed little about the power-train installed or others to be offered.
Expect the next Kangoo to also feature the mild petrol-electric power-train from the Clio along with a range of combustion engines. The current Kangoo ZE has a 44-kW electric motor paired to a 33-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
The smooth new shape shown on the Kangoo ZE retains the van-like sliding doors for easy access and vertically-divided rear doors.
The concept features side-mounted cameras in place of conventional wing mirrors and is finished in the same green-grey colour as the EZ-Pro Concept shown at last year's Hanover commercial vehicle show.
