Goodwood Festival of Speed postponed

LONDON: Following the developments in the past week regarding the coronavirus and the advice received from the UK Government and the Public Health England, Goodwood has taken the decision to postpone the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.

Scheduled to take place on July 9 to 12, Goodwood is currently exploring potential alternative dates for late summer or early autumn with tickets already purchased for this year’s event will remain valid for the new date.

The postponement of the event looks to help keep its customers, drivers, team members, volunteers and staff from possibly contracting the virus during the event.

“These are dramatic and unbelievable times but they will pass and we are already trying to think about just how exciting it’s going to be to welcome you all back to Goodwood for what perhaps might be the ‘Greatest Event Ever”.

Plans for the Goodwood Revival will continue to be reviewed, in the hope that the event will be able to go ahead as planned from Sept 11 to 13.

A new date for the postponed 78th Members’ Meeting is also being reviewed – to get a motorsport fix in place of last weekend’s postponed meeting, Goodwood Road & Racing will host a live stream of last weekend's (March 28 and 29) of a selection of its favourite races and demonstrations from the GRRC archive.

The live stream was held from 10.00am to 6.00pm GMT on Saturday, and continued through the same hours on Sunday, just as it would have been done for a normal Members’ Meeting.
