Heaps of rubbish dumped on cars double-parked by mechanic

KLANG: The next time you obstruct a rubbish compactor by double-parking in your neighbourhood, you may get rubbish dumped on your car.

That is what happened when domestic waste collectors could not drive through Jalan Telok Gadong 1 in Klang to collect the rubbish there because a mechanic had blocked the road with cars from the workshop.

Unable to get through the narrow road, the workers left 18 bags of rubbish on the illegally parked cars.

Residents in the area told StarMetro that the mechanic who double-parked his cars was a nuisance.

Last Monday, the rubbish compactor driver was forced to reverse after having failed to go around the obstruction.

Later, photos of the piled-up rubbish on the cars were circulated on social media.

Another resident said a protruding awning extension of a house on the same road also further obstructed the rubbish compactor.

Upon being alerted, Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Environmental Services Department director Zaireezal Ahmad Zainuddin ordered the area supervisor to ensure that the compactor would be able to run the rubbish collection route.

“We advised the workers to follow the work procedures.

“Problems faced on the ground must be brought up to the department, but the collection of domestic waste must go on as well, ” he said.

Zaireezal said the rubbish was removed from the cars and the mechanic had been warned to not double-park or cause obstruction to traffic in the area.
