High demand for Honda HR-V

PETALING JAYA: More than 7,000 bookings have been received for the new Honda HR-V since its launch in early February.

About 65% of the bookings were for the range-topping V variant, while the S and mid-grade E variants account for 15% and 20% respectively.

The record bookings have led to a four-month waiting period.

To reduce the waiting period for HR-V buyers, Honda Malaysia says it is reviewing its production scheduling at its plant in Pegoh, Malacca.

The HR-V has feature such as versatile rear seat configurations, a seven-inch display audio unit, touch panel auto air conditioning and smart entry with push start button, six airbags, automatic brake hold and electric parking brake.

Honda Malaysia also set a new record in February 2015 with the highest ever number of bookings received at 11,047 units and more than 6,000 units sold.

This new record was driven mainly by bookings for the new HR-V, City and Jazz.

The company says it is confident about achieving its 85,000 sales target for 2015.
