Honda Accord compared with Tesla Model 3

AUSTIN: A new comparison chart in the United States pits the upcoming Tesla Model 3 against the latest Honda Accord. While the two vehicles are substantially different from a powertrain perspective, they are surprisingly similar in terms of wheelbase, cargo capacity, kerb weight, and performance.

The comparison chart was created by HondaPartsOnline.net to show how similar the Model 3 and Accord EX-L are.

In terms of pricing, the comparison shows that the Accord EX-L with the 2.0T and 10-speed automatic will come in under the Model 3 by about US$3,000 (RM12,700). However, this does not account for any tax credits available to buyers of the Tesla Model 3. This is intentional as it's hard to tell how the tax credit situation will shake out for Model 3 buyers.

The comparison chart does not address vital metrics such as resale value and reliability because no one has any idea how Tesla will rate on either of these metrics yet. US customers outside of Tesla have yet to take delivery of the Model 3, with the electric car maker saying the first customers will get their cars in late October. Production of the Model 3 has been held up because some suppliers did not deliver parts on time.
