In standard form, the CB500F has been priced with GST at RM31,363.28 while the CBR500R costs RM31,681.28 - both are accompanied by a two-year or 20,000km manufacturer's warranty (which ever comes first) and three colour options of Millennium Red, Matt Gunpowder Black or Lemon Ice Yellow (new).
For an additional RM3,498, the bikes can also be had as a variant that includes anti-lock braking system (ABS).
Both bikes use the same 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor fed by a 16.7-litre fuel tank to produce 49.6hp at 8,500rpm and 44Nm of torque at 7,000rpm and is mated to a six-speed manual with a wet multi-plate clutch.
Although both bikes share the same 1,410mm wheelbase at 1,410mm, 25.3-degree caster angle and 2,080mm-length, the CB500F's trailing arm is 1mm-longer at 102mm than it's fared CBR500R sibling.
Furthermore, the CB500F is the lightest of the two at 188kg (kerb) and is also the widest at 790mm and shortest at 1,060mm-tall versus the 192kg (kerb) CBR500R at 750mm-wide and 1,145mm-tall.
The bikes roll on 17-inch wheels fitted with 120/70 (front) and 160/60 (rear) tyres.
A single front and rear disc provides stopping power as the adjustable front telescopic and rear pro-link mono-shock absorbers take care of ride and handling.
They have also been fitted with LED headlamp, LED rear light, wave-key, sports muffler and adjustable front fork and front-brake-lever (5 points of adjustments).
The new CBR500R and CB500F will be available in Impian Honda Shop from May 23 onwards.
