PETALING JAYA:  What can you say about a car colour? A lot, apparently. The colour of a car is one of the key factors in a buying decision and Honda Malaysia doesn't want to miss out on it, which is why it is now offering the City in a new colour called Dark Ruby Red Pearl.

Honda said its market study showed that many of its customers find the City goes well with red. The Dark Ruby Red Pearl colour is expected to further raise the popularity of the model among young executives, it said in a statement.

Honda said the new colour, coupled with the City's overall package, is expected to cement its position as the B-segment leader and top choice among Malaysians.

Since its launch in March last year, 55,587 units of the fourth-generation City has been sold as of Aug 17. The City contributed 41% of the Honda Malaysia's total sales in the first half of 2015 securing the top position in its segment. There are now more than 200,000 units of City on Malaysian roads.

Equipped with a 1.5L SOHC i-VTEC engine and coupled with an advanced Continuous Variable Transmission, the City aims for driving performance and fuel economy.

The City also comes with class-leading features including eight cup holders and smart storage compartments to further provide convenience for both drivers and passengers, a 7-inch Display Audio with MirrorLink function (V variant), Smart Entry and Push Start button (E and V variant) and Rear Ventilation Air-Conditioning (E and V variant). The boot space of the City at 536L is the largest in its class.

The City was awarded a 5-Star rating and named the Overall Winner for Adult Occupant Protection in the Asean NCAP Grand Prix last year.

If you don't like red, the City is also sold in Taffeta White, Modern Steel Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.

Honda Malaysia is targeting to sell 300 units monthly of the City in the new colour.
