PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia has introduced Carnival Red as a new colour for its third generation Honda Jazz model line-up.

The Jazz's new colour is currently on display at all Honda Malaysia showrooms nationwide and is also available for all three variants of the Jazz - from the entry-level S, E and range-topping V variants.

This expands the number of colour options to five, which includes New Tinted Silver, Taffeta White, Crystal Black Pearl and Modern Steel Metallic.

“We have observed that the Jazz is attracting a new group of young customers mainly tertiary students and young adults who are looking to own their first car," said Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Yoichiro Ueno.

He added that research has shown that the colour red was depicted to be fresh, vibrant and young.

"We are pleased to introduce the Jazz in Carnival Red, which is a perfect combination of fun and practicality, and we are confident it will be able to meet our young customers’ requirements," said Ueno.

Since its launch in July 2014, the company has sold 26,126 units of Jazz as at Dec 31, 2015 and the company hopes to sell 200 units per month of the new colour.

In addition, the company has also tweaked the outlook of the entry-level Jazz S by adding high-glossed black with chrome plating for the front grille, chrome plating for rear license plate garnish and power adjustable door mirrors.

The Jazz S is priced on-the-road with insurance and GST at RM73,800, while the Jazz E is at RM81,000 and RM89,400 for the range-topping Jazz V,

Regardless of variant, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is mated to a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine providing 118bhp at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,600rpm.

Inside its surprisingly large cabin resides is the versatile 'Magic Seats', which offers four different configuration modes to allow the Jazz to take on different-sized cargo.

Additinoally, there are nine cup holders, smart storage compartments, a seven-inch audio display, touch panel automatic air-conditioning as well as USB and HDMI ports.

Safety features include up to six airbags (V-variant only), with anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution and ISOFIX anchorage points as standard fitment while the E and V variants add hill-start assist, vehicle stability assist and emergency stop signal.
