Honda Jazz hybrid in Europe billed as most comfortable in class

LONDON: The new Honda Jazz e:HEV hybrid in Europe was developed to deliver class-leading levels of comfort and spaciousness.

Central to achieving this is Honda’s newly developed body stabilising seat frame with supportive mat structure.

A wider seat bottom allows the seat pad depth to be increased by 30mm with the additional softness immediately noticeable when seated.

The enhanced structure in the back of the seat increases lumbar and pelvic support.

This helps to prevent fatigue, particularly in the hip and waist area of occupants on longer journeys.

The newly designed seats are tapered towards the top of the seatback to provide the cushion volume needed to fully support and envelop occupants’ backs.

Ergonomic enhancements include positioning the brake pedal deeper inside the footwell, reducing the need for the seat position to be adjusted for comfortable pedal operation.

Rear passengers also benefit from best-in-class rear leg room of 989mm, with the front seat guiding rails moved further apart and the width between the rails increased.

Carrying Honda's new e:HEV badge, all-new Jazz has two compact, powerful electric motors connected to a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine, a lithium-ion battery and a fixed-gear transmission via an intelligent power control unit,

Luggage capacity (with rear seats up) starts from 298 litres and goes up to an impressive 1203 litres (rear seats down, to the roof).

Also key to maximising cabin room is the positioning of the fuel tank in the centre of the chassis beneath the front seats, which is unique in this class.

This enables the Jazz to retain the versatile rear Magic Seat configuration that offers both fold-flat or flip-up seat flexibility.
