Honda Malaysia to get new CEO from Nov 1

PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia will get a new CEO from Nov 1.

Toichi Ishiyama (pic) will succeed Katsuto Hayashi as the managing director and chief executive.

Hayashi, who led Honda Malaysia for one and a half years, will return to Japan and become the general manager overseeing Honda operations in the Americas.

At present, Ishiyama is the president and CEO of Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited. Ishiyama, 48, has served Honda for 25 years in various roles in Japan, the United States,  Thailand, China and Pakistan. With more than 20 years of experience in researching markets and product planning, Honda Malaysia plans to leverage Ishiyama’s forte towards ensuring that the company remains the No.1 non-national brand and No. 2 in overall total industry volume.

Honda Malaysia projects sales of 100,000 units for this year.
