PETALING JAYA: Ask Honda Malaysia how they have performed in 2015, and they will be all smiles. It recorded an all-time high sales of 94,902 units, catapulting it to the top non-national brand for the first time in its history.

The overall sales for 2015 increased by 22% compared to the 77,485 units recorded in 2014. The City, Honda Malaysia’s best-selling model, contributed the highest percentage with 40% of the overall sales recorded.

This was followed by the HR-V and the Jazz with 21% and 18% contribution to total sales respectively. The City, Jazz, HR-V and CR-V also maintained the lead in their respective segments.

"We started off the year with a challenging sales target of 85,000 units. We ended the year surpassing our target by 12% despite the tough and highly competitive market situation in 2015," said Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Yoichiro Ueno.

For December 2015, Honda Malaysia also recorded the highest monthly sales in its history with 10,741 units of vehicles sold.
