At present, Honda sells RS variants of the Jazz, Brio and Mobilio in Indonesia.
Designed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co., Ltd., the concept car gets styling cues from the Type R hatch and Civic Si.
It features a sporty exterior design reinforced with a hood scoop, sporty bumpers, LED lighting details, blacked-out plastics, side gills, oversized roof spoiler and large darkened alloy wheels. The grille is the same as the one seen in the refreshed Mobilio that showed up in Indonesia last year.
Honda did not reveal what the interior looks like but don't be surprise if the production model touts a bigger space and upgraded to feature a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and multiple charging ports to appeal to the connected populace. And of course, the model signed off for production will look tamer than what is shown by the concept car.
The Brio shares the same small car platform as the Amaze sedan, and according to Honda,this conceptual Brio RS is designed for everyday use by young/young-at-heart customers, and offers a sporty drive as well.
“Honda Small RS Concept ... emphasises Honda sporty spirit, especially in small car line-ups. As a concept car, this is our vision of what a small sporty car should be,” said PT Honda Prospect Motor president director Takehiro Watanabe in his opening speech.
Other than the Small RS Concept, Honda also displayed the NSX GT3 track car, which boasts a new exterior colour and new interior details. A Civic Type R with new “Touring” style body sticker is also at the Honda stand. The sticker was designed by the winner of the Honda Decal Competition, held by Honda Prospect Motor.
In addition, Honda also sought to highlight what it has done in car safety as it promoted its range of safety technologies and intiatives at its stand.
The motor show runs from April 19-29.
