Honda won't be selling Civic Coupe and Fit in US anymore

The Civic Coupe is history but US buyers still get to buy the Civic hatch, Si or sedan.

LOS ANGELES: Honda's North American unit announced today it is reshuffling its product portfolio and dropping some models.

It will stop selling the Fit/Jazz city car and is dropping the Civic Coupe as well as the manual variants of the Accord, citing poor sales as the reason.

According to Honda, Americans these days prefer the HR-V instead of the Fit, and it will be ramping up production of the crossover to meet demand. Nevertheless, the global version of the Fit - now in its fourth generation - will continue to be sold in other markets, including Malaysia soon.

On the Civic front, the hatchback variant has been outselling the Coupe, thus putting the latter on the chopping block.

As to the sportier Civic Si, which is available in sedan and coupe bodystyles, Honda said it would suspend its production after the 2020 model year as it works on the next-generation Civic.
