PETALING JAYA:  CarSifu's Rizal Johan was out all day yesterday driving the new Camry including Toyota's first locally assembled hybrid - the Camry Hybrid.

The top-ranging Camry 2.5L Hybrid has an in-line four cylinder engine mated to the electronically controlled continously variable transmission (E-CVT) transmission which produces 160PS and 213Nm of torque and an electric motor which outputs 143PS and 270Nm.  It comes with seven airbags, one more than its nearest competitors.

The Camry is also available in 2.0 litre variants: the mid-spec 2.0G and base model 2.0E. We can already tell you now that the new Camry, sporting a new front fascia has vastly improved its ride quality and reduced the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH).

We will bring you more details at the launch of the facelifted Camry tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, here's some info for you to size up the new model ahead of its official intro.
