DETROIT: General Motor Corporation (GMC) has announced that it will introduce the Hummer EV (electric vehicle) and promises a bold design and remarkable capability.

Dubbed “Quiet Revolution” this will be the American carmaker's first all-electric truck with the remarkable quietness inherent in the operation of an electric vehicle.

The Hummer EV looks to make its physical debut on May 20 while featuring 1,000hp and 15,592Nm of torque for a 0 to 100kph sprint time of about 2.9 seconds.

It is currently being built in Michigan, at the company's Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant.

“GMC builds premium and capable trucks and SUVs and the GMC HUMMER EV takes this to new heights. We are excited to debut our revolutionary zero-emissions truck during the biggest night in TV advertising," said Global Buick and GMC vice president Duncan Aldred.

The Hummer EV will have a 30-second commercial that will be aired during the second quarter of the National Football League's 54th Super Bowl where the Kansas City Chiefs will meet the San Francisco 49ers to determine the champion.
